Does IQ really determine how smart a person is? Is IQ reliable, dependable, accurate,


or even racist? Do people with a higher IQ actually have more success than people with a


lower IQ? Should schools be developing ways and focusing on raising a student’s IQ? These


may be controversial and opinionated ideas, though they give a new perspective to a widely


accepted test. I doubt that people with a higher IQ have more success than people with a


IQ. I think it is a waste of time trying to improve a student’s IQ, and I certainly do believe that


IQ tests can be racist in some ways which renders the entire test undependable.


Many people think that people with a higher IQ have more success in their lives. In my


opinion, there are many different types of success, especially when it comes to personal


preference. Some people may think that a lot of money is success, while others believe that


a satisfying career is success. Some people even believe that just having a caring significant


other is success in their life. A person need not be incredibly smart to be able to score a


fantastic boyfriend or girlfriend, or even get their dream job. I do believe however, that this


applies to some people who are incredibly ambitious in their lives, and require quick thinking


skills for fast paced jobs; although this is the only real benefit success-wise from having a high


IQ.


Intelligence is not something you can control, in my opinion. I believe that everyone has a set


intelligence level in which they will be able to process things and a rate that they will


be able to learn things. However, I think that this rate may be changed temporarily based on
