The Puritans had many beliefs. They taught these beliefs to their children and built their culture and the view of other cultures from their beliefs. Some of their beliefs I don’t agree with, but some of them I do. I value hard work, religion, and family, just like the Puritans believed.
On of the many beliefs of the Puritans was hard work. The Puritans were constantly focusing on hard work. Hard work kept the morals of the people up and they were brought up to fight the land like heroes for every grain of corn they could get, and no man had very much time for fooling around. An example of their beliefs in from The Crucible that everyone in the town worked all day of everyday except on Sunday, also some people valued hard work more then religion and worked all day on Sunday too. Like the Puritans I value hard work and I show this by helping repair houses that we rent, I help repair the outside and landscaping also accommodate to the old by adding better steps for they can get to the easier. In addition of how I show hard work is through my offering a great amount of my time to service projects around the community, particularly with my Boy Scout Troop. Lastly I do hard work because of friendships I have with people and I believe that hard work strengthens relationships between people. I like hard work because I think it builds character and gives you a sense of pride that you accomplished such a great feat that you would not normally think you could do. That is what I think of hard work.
Another belief of the Puritans is Religion. An example of this is through an excerpt from Upon the Burning of Our House in which the narrator talks about how all the things she has including her house, cloths, and other personal belongings were all the Lords and he gave them to her temporary, and thus he can take them back at anytime. In addition the Puritans from The Crucible took rest on Sunday to go to church and give thanks to God for all that has happened so far in their lives. Finally when the Puritans landed at what is presently Cape Cod in the book Of Plymouth Plantation they thanked God for the save voyage that they are alive and have reached land, also they give thanks to God for the food they have and the friendship with the Indians at The first Thanks giving. In my perspective I value religion greatly. I may not go to church every Sunday, but I go as much as I can. In fact...
