Hedda Gabler and Jurgen Tesman came back from their six months honeymoon. Julle

and Berte were there to greet them back. Berte, Hedda and Jurgen s servant was

afraid for not pleasing Hedda. Hedda has high standards and was impossible to

please.

I did not like Hedda s character, she sounded like a stuck up bitch, and she

was a rude person because she interrupted Jurgen s conversation with Julle, and

commenting on the ugliness of Julle s hat. Julle got offended on this remark

and Hedda immediately apologized to her. Jurgen sounded a nice person.

Mrs. Elvsted came to the house and talked to Hedda, she told her that when they

were in school, Hedda pulled her hair. You could tell that Hedda back then

already developed a bad personality.

Mrs. Elvsted came to Tesman for help, fearing Ejlert, the tutor to her

children, fearing Ejlert will revert to his alcoholism. Mrs. Elvsted became

closed to him because her unhappy marriage.

Judge Brack came to the house when Mrs. Elvsted left. He helped Tesman and

Hedda s finances and told Tesman that he should be more economical. Brack also

told him that Ejlert had a very good prospect on the professorship. Tesman was

alarmed because he wanted that job, but Brack assured him that he would get

that job.

Hedda was talking to Judge Brack alone while Tesman went visiting his aunt

Julle. The reason why Hedda married Tesman was because she was tired of being

single. The honeymoon vacation they had was boring and she even begged to Brack

not to use the word love. She sounded that her marriage was a mistake. She

hated the house that claimed to be a dream house and she was not happy to...
